§ 54-151. Same—Tapping fee schedule and regulations

  • (a) Tapping fee schedule. The tapping fee schedule for all taps that are to be located within the corporate boundary of the city and are to be charged and collected by the city as follows:

    ¾-inch tap $400.00
    1-inch tap $475.00
    1½-inch tap $875.00
    2-inch tap $1,000.00
    Larger than 2-inch tap Actual cost

     

    Note—Actual cost means all costs, including meter and meter vault, bores underneath paved streets or alleyways, based on the extension of a water service line to the customer's side of the meter.

    (b) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, tap enlargements which require a new tap will be charged the tap fee for the tap size as set out in subsection (a) of this section, plus an additional fee of $75.00 for abandoning the existing tap.

    (c) Fees for meter enlargements from three-fourths-inch to one inch shall be $225.00.

    (d) For taps made under a paved surface shall be charged a fee as by the city permit to cut the asphalt or concrete. See section 48-2(b).

    (e) Fees for plugging abandoned water service taps shall be $200.00.

    (f) Fees for boring under a paved street or alleyway shall be $250.00 and is in addition to the tap fee for taps that are three-fourths-inch through two inches in size.

    (g) The tapping fee for water service located outside the corporate limit of the city shall be based upon the actual cost to provide such tap and as prescribed in this article.
