ARTICLE V. PUBLIC SITES AND OPEN SPACES

1. The subdivider may give consideration to suitable sites for schools, parks, playgrounds and other area for public use so as to conform with the recommendations of the commission. Any provision for schools, parks, etc. may be indicated on the preliminary plat.

2. No individual, partnership, firm or corporation shall deepen, widen, fill, re-route or change the course or location of any existing ditch, channel, stream or drainage way, without first obtaining written permission of the City of Vernon or other agency having jurisdiction.

3. In cases where a subdivision contains or abuts a school, park or playground, the subdivider shall dedicate one-half (½) a normal residential street, and provide for one-half (½) the cost of paving and the full cost of all the utilities necessary. The interested agency shall provide the necessary right-of-way to make the street sixty (60) feed in width, and provide one-half (½) the cost of paving.
